Newcastle v Brighton 1984

Looked for this before but never found it. Anyway, one of my favourite ever goals, even though it's against Brighton. Step up, the GORGEOUS Peter Beardsley (3rd goal)

Drunk Aberdeen fan

Been meaning to post about the end of CKF for 2007 for ages but just hadn't got round to it. It's too dark for me to get down there at the moment so if you fancy a game get yourselves down there early with a ball. Been a fun year I think.....kind of fizzled out at the end what with Spencer and others leaving but I think we managed to strike a balance with numbers and attitude this year. Been doing it 3 years now! Keep an eye on the blog to see when we start up again....in the meantime here's a football related video for us to go out with a 'splash'

No CKF on October 1st?

I put a question mark because it's only me that won't be going so if any of you take a ball then no problem.....if any of you are reading that is.

My knee is in a bit of a state, not helped by playing in the Mollys 5 a side team today. Childishly I just couldn't help myself.

So, if you want to have a game tomorrow.....take a ball :)

Another one bites the dust

And now it's goodbye to Yuko who is off to Australia for 2 months....ballet will no longer be seen in Chuo Kouen.
You can follow her travels on her blog by CLICKING HERE. There are some lovely photos of us on there too.
It has been said by some of the fairer members of CKF that in recent weeks it has become a bit rougher and kowai. Let's keep it chilled eh? Someone even booted poor Angela in the shin, studs and everything....
If I find out who did it.....

Mata ne!

Much wailing and gnashing of teeth in Chuo Kouen this week as it was the last (for a while) night for founding member Spencer and Mako.

Hopefully it won't be toooooo long before we see them galloping and leaping gracefully over the finely raked sands of our pitch.

I can't believe this is the 3rd year we've been playing on a Monday. From it's very humble beginnings to it's slightly ridiculous peak last year and back to this year's friendly kick around, if it wasn't for Spencer very few people would have ever come down. It was he who pioneered the 'get drunk, invite anyone' approach that really kick started the CKF revolution :)

We were blessed with a beautiful moon on Monday, of which I took some rubbish shots but Natasha managed to get some better ones of - Natasha's flickr

Mako didn't play, she's suffering with mosquito bites on her leg (see picture) but perhaps she can join a pub team when she gets to Newcastle. I'm sure she will be very welcome.

So, see you next year, you know where we'll be

CKF goes PRO

Check it out! I finally bought some lovely orange bibs for us to use in Chuo Kouen.

I actually bought some green ones first but when I tried one on realised they were for kids. doh!

Got them changed though and not only that......check out the detail...

Lovely stuff. Surely now, even the likes of Mark might come down ;) xxx

Apart from it making it easier to see your team mates it also means a certain few people can't check what colour their chums are wearing before they come down and then only pass to each other ;)

This monday is Obon but I am around so I will be there, bibs 'n' ball. Hope to see some of you there.

Phew what a scorcher!

mmmmmm, actually I think this is the second time Kame has appeared on the CKF blog......same pants too ;)

It's very hot but I seem to get more used to the heat each year and I am currently loving summer. Let's face it, we can go at whatever pace we like in Chuo Kouen.

Few no shows recently, Mark hasn't been around for a couple of weeks but you can never rely on him. Spencer has been Mr PEACE but where have Natasha and Cailan been? Come on everyone, there was even a rainbow the other day :)
